CRPO 78 Expansion of Marine Terminal at Juaymah NGL Facilities – 4.0m ILT
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) was awarded the contract to enhance the export handling capacity at the Juaymah NGL Fractionation Facility (JNGLF). As part of this project, L&T was tasked with installing four large-diameter monopiles, each with the following specifications:
- Diameter: 4.0 meters
- Length: 58 to 66 meters
- Weight: 500 metric tons
To facilitate the installation of these large monopiles, L&T awarded OCS the contract to provide the Internal Lifting Tool (ILT).
OCS Scope:
OCS took on the challenge of conceptualizing, procuring materials, fabricating, and testing the ILT within an ambitious 90-day timeframe. While large-diameter ILTs exist in the market, OCS introduced an innovative approach with a unique load path design, marking the first application of this concept.
The OCS ILT is distinguished by its use of individual wedges (8 in total) combined with an independent jacking system, which utilizes a total of 16 jacks. This innovative design ensured that the ILT performed exceptionally well.
Project Outcome:
The OCS ILT not only met the required performance expectations but exceeded them. This success highlights OCS’s engineering excellence, operational capabilities, and ability to efficiently fabricate advanced equipment. It stands as a testament to OCS’s ability to undertake technically challenging tasks, from conceptual design to fabrication, and deliver high-quality results within a tight timeframe.
In summary, the project underscores OCS’s capability to tackle complex engineering challenges and deliver innovative solutions, solidifying its position as one of the leaders in providing cutting-edge bespoke equipment to Oil and Gas Contractors.
