McDermott was awarded a contract to remove SFNY 242 from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) by using McDermott’s barge, DB32. The jacket is a 4-through legged with 30” OD x 2” WT piles.

OCS Scope:

To facilitate the jacket removal, McDermott awarded OCS the contract to provide the soil plug removal and internal pile cutting services. The cutting was done approximately 1 metre below the mudline and the jacket was lifted in a single section.

Project Outcome:

The soil plug removal and internal cutting operations were successfully completed in March 2024 to the full satisfaction of all stakeholders, reaffirming OCS’s commitment to technical excellence, safety, and value creation particularly given the notably short notice of period.
