Introduction

Idemitsu Gas Production (IGP) has developed the SV & DN Project at block 05-1b & 05-1c, Nam Con Son basin, offshore Vietnam with the target for being on stream in Q3-2020 and Q3-2021. The Project comprises one (01) Central Processing Platform (CPP-SV) and one (01) un-manned Well Head Platform (DN-WHP), a 12.75”Ø x 10.2km subsea flexible FWS pipeline from DN to SV and a 96mmØ x 10.32km power cable from DN to SV. The overall objective of the Sao Vang – Dai Nguyet Development Project is to secure the energy necessary to meet domestic demand and support the growth of the Vietnamese economy.

SVDN field is located approximately 160nm southeast from Vung Tau, Vietnam in water depth approximately 116m.

IGP had contracted the main DN WHP EPIC scope to PTSC MC. PTSC MC in turn subcontracted the transportation & installation scope to PT Meindo Elang Indonesia (MEI). MEI has subcontracted the transportation and installation engineering and construction management to OCS to provide all engineering analysis pertaining to transportation of jacket, piles and topside, jacket launch and wet tow analysis, jacket upending analysis, pile handling and drivability analyses, all mooring analyses, all rigging design and Topside lifting analysis. OCS also provided construction management to develop transportation and installation procedures including an offshore team station onboard MEI’s crane vessel to supervise and coordinate the offshore installation including a dedicated launch management team to supervise the launching of the DN jacket.

MEI provided the rest of the project management team, all hardware (specialized equipment and installation aids) and vessel including crane barge Eka Nusantara (EN) 3000 for the project.

The DN-WHP substructure is a four (4) legged substructure with skirt piles on the legs. The substructure shall be a launched installation and supports the WHP topside which shall be installed by lifting into position. The DN WHP platform has the following information:-

Jacket:

Launch weight 6,386 MT;

Skirt Piles – 3,609 MT (8 nos x 2.134mmØx131m long.);

Boat-landing (129mT) and stairways.

Topside:  Factored Lift weight 1860 MT

The project was successfully completed in September 2021.
